Born in Chicago, award winning photographer Jane Fulton Alt picked up the camera in 1996 and hasn't stopped shooting since.  She has studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, Columbia College, and the Evanston Art Center.  Much of her photography is concerned with the ineffable mystery of the life force.  The first and last breaths have been departure points in the exploration resulting in the Before The Butterflies and Matters of the Heart series.  She has exhibited nationally and internationally and her work is included in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas;  the Museum of Contemporary Photography Midwest Print Project in Chicago, and the Centro Fotografico Alvarez Bravo, Oaxaca, Mexico.  More of her work can be seen at www.janefultonalt.com.
