As strong as these forces may be, it has, however, been possible for
parents to control such tendencies in their children. But the relentless assault of
mass-market media that have
created larger-than-life "superheroes" has impacted on all of us, particularly upon
children. These superheroes once carried a moral message, but, as
society responds with quick and easy solutions to
very complex problems, we see, within the message, that often it is
violence which solves the problem - that these persuasive
cultural forces deliberately tap into these primal traits.
