Artist Statement
the initial idea of creating un|still is to pay credit to the importance dance obtained in my life | performing as a dancer is about creating a universe | marked by crucial moments that carry the whole richness and beauty of motion | I believe photography can transport such momentum | my aim is to minimize the distance between me the photographer and the performing artist towards zero | the image will be reduced to it's very essence | today's dance is in many ways on a turning point | seeking to find new avenues and tools in a rapidly changing environment | taking part on such transitions is a very challenging and exciting task
I began shooting dance and became a dance performer in 1998 | my portfolio is to be considered a work in progress | I'd like to mention that not one of the dancers shown posed for the pictures taken | neither was the environment made up for a photo shooting | I do not want to manipulate but feel the sensation of movement and energy | I seek to connect myself to the artist and anticipate moments of dance |
