Il y a la chanson « Le tourbillon de la vie »
cette chanson que je fredonnais tous les jours
(et que François a saisi au vol), je seul jour où
nous avons eu les moyens de
nous payer un ingénieur du son.
La gravité, les exigences de la passion,
le déchirement de la séparation,
l’aveugle cruauté de la guerre,
tout cela nous parle encore et toujours,
parce qu’il y a cette «grâce»
et les vérités incompréhensibles de la vie.

This song that I was singing every days
and that François registered
when we had enought money to pay an ingeneer of sound.
La seriousness, the requirement of passion,
the heart-break of a separation,
the blindness of war,
all this is still and always speaking to us,
