The 6th Los Angeles Photographic Print Exposition will be held Jan 16-19, 1997 at Butterfield & Butterfield, 7601 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, California. Expanding to 40 galleries and private dealers from more than a dozen cities, photo l.a. VI will exhibit for sale more than 3000 photographs. The works will represent those from the finest photographic art dating from the earliest 19th century photographic experiments to the most contemporary photography and photo-based art. This will be the largest exhibition of fine art photographs in the West. Collecting Seminars are scheduled with Denise Bethel, Director of the Photo Department at Sotheby's; Beth Gates Warren, former Director of Photographs at Sotheby's; and John Bennette III, a noted private collector. Renowned French photojournalist Marc Riboud, will be the honored guest who will also give a pre-event lecture at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on Wednesday, January 15th. PREVIEW RECEPTION -
