Photo l.a. '97 COLLECTING SEMINARS

Three important collecting Seminars will be held in conjunction with photo l.a. VI, the 6th Los Angeles Photographic Print Exposition January 16 - 19, 1997 at Butterfield & Butterfield in Los Angeles.

Three of the most knowledgeable experts in the field will conduct on-site seminars prior to admission of the general public. Each group is limited to 35 people. Each Seminar costs $45, which includes a three-day pass to the fair. All seminars are conducted in the galleries of Butterfield & Butterfield, 7601 Sunset Boulevard.

DENISE BETHEL, Director of Photographs at Sotheby's will lead an on-site seminar at noon on Friday, January 17th. With a vast knowledge of the history of photography, Ms. Bethel offers a unique perspective, in addition to an understanding of the photography market.

JOHN BENNETTE III, a noted private collector from New York, will conduct his seminar on Saturday, January 18th at 10 am. Mr. Bennette is an unusually passionate collector of photographs whose emphasis is on the "art" of collecting, rather than on the commercial aspects. His guided tour of the exposition is not to be missed.

BETH GATES WARREN, former Director of Photographs at Sotheby's, will conduct her seminar on Sunday, January 19th at 10 am. With her twenty years at Sotheby's, Ms. Warren has been involved with the collecting of photography since its modest beginnings to the internationally important art form it has grown into.
